| Lord Michael Hastings CBE Michael Hastings, Lord Hastings of Scarisbrick CBE is KPMG's first Global Head of Corporate Citizenship. He was previously the BBC's Head of Public Affairs. In 2003, he was awarded a CBE in recognition of his services to crime reduction having served as Chairman of Crime Concern for 15 years, a trustee for 21 years and on the Commission for Racial Equality for nine years. In 2005, Michael was awarded an independent peerage to the House of Lords by Her Majesty The Queen. In the same year he also received the UNICEF award for his 'outstanding contribution to understanding and effecting solutions for Africa's children'. Michael also sits on the Council of the Overseas Development Institute in the UK and is Chairman of Millennium Promise UK. In 2011 he became a Vice President of UNICEF. Having built and sold Reg Vardy plc, one of the UK’s largest car dealership groups in 2006 for £506 million, Sir Peter was able to concentrate on The Vardy Foundation, awarding grants and donations to thousands of individuals and organisations, as well as building schools for children in the poorest areas of the North East. Sir Peter is currently partnering with Safe Families for Children to prevent children going into the care system, and with Betel of Britain in order to better provide for those exiting prisons and tackling drug or alcohol dependency. Gary Grant, along with his wife Catherine, opened the first The Entertainer toy shop in 1981 in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. Today they are the largest independent toy retailer with over 65 shops. After becoming a Christian in 1991 Gary decided that he would only sell toys that he felt comfortable with from a Christian perspective. His decision not to carry Harry Potter toys made national headlines. The Entertainer Toyshops still do not open on Sundays.
